Privacy policy
The short version: we collect what you give us so we can reply to you, we do not sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Who we are
Bake Your Website provides website design and marketing services to bakeries. If you have any question about this policy or about data we hold on you, email hello@bakeyourwebsite.com.
What we collect
- Information you send us. Your name, bakery name, email address, phone number, city and anything you write in the enquiry form or in an email to us.
- Basic usage data. Pages visited, approximate location at city level, device type and referring site. We use privacy-respecting analytics and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors.
- Client data, during an engagement. If you become a client we will hold access credentials and account information needed to do the work. That is covered by our client agreement as well as this policy.
Why we hold it
To reply to your enquiry, to carry out work you have engaged us for, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. We do not use enquiry details to add you to a marketing list — if you want to hear from us regularly you have to ask.
Who we share it with
Service providers who make the business run: our email host, our form handler, our analytics provider, our hosting provider and our accountant. Each receives only what they need. We do not sell personal data to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising purposes.
Where we run advertising on your behalf as a client, that is a separate processing relationship governed by your client agreement.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become clients are deleted after 24 months. Client records are kept for as long as the engagement runs, and then for the period our accounting obligations require, which is usually six years.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@bakeyourwebsite.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the UK or EU you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Analytics is cookieless. If you submit the enquiry form, our form provider may set a cookie to prevent spam submissions.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes affecting existing clients will be sent by email rather than left here to be discovered.
